Living in Aventura, Florida
LookyLOO Review of Living in Aventura
Aventura is a coastal city in northeast Miami-Dade County known for its luxury waterfront condos and high-end shopping. It’s a relatively young city, incorporated in 1995, but it’s become one of South Florida’s most desirable addresses for those who want a polished, resort-like lifestyle without the round-the-clock bustle of Miami Beach.
The city is meticulously planned, with manicured landscaping in gated communities with luxury amenities. Its location between Miami and Fort Lauderdale makes it a convenient base for commuters, although the traffic is notorious. If you can stay local and avoid the commute, there are beautiful marinas, plush golf courses, and upscale retail that make it a self-contained lifestyle destination.
Lifestyle in Aventura
Life in Aventura is centered around leisure and convenience. The Aventura Mall is one of the largest in the country, offering luxury shopping, fine dining, and entertainment for every age, all under one roof. The city’s waterfront location means boating is part of everyday life for many residents, with marinas and yacht clubs dotted along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The Don Soffer Exercise Trail, a 3-mile loop around the golf course, is popular for walking and jogging, and nearby parks like Founders Park and Waterways Park add green space to the urban landscape. Residents enjoy a mix of year-round sunshine and a slower pace than South Beach, though it’s still easy to get into the heart of Miami or Fort Lauderdale when desired. Assuming you don't try to go at rush hour.
Worklife in Aventura
While Aventura is primarily residential, it has a growing commercial district with medical centers and professional services. Aventura Hospital and Medical Center is a major local employer, and the city’s proximity to I-95 makes commuting to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or Hollywood manageable.
Remote workers will find ample housing options with home offices and resort-style amenities, plus plenty of nearby cafes for a change of scenery.
Schools in Aventura
Aventura is served by Miami-Dade County Public Schools, with standout options like Aventura Waterways K-8 Center, which scores an "A-" grade on niche.com. The city also has several charter and private schools, including Aventura City of Excellence School (ACES) and private academies catering to international families.
For higher education, Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay Campus and Miami-Dade College’s North Campus are both nearby.

I moved from southern GA, about 2 hrs from tally. I live in Aventura & I love it. Yes some of the buildings do have bad reviews but there is a lot of changes happening. The schools are good, you have the big mall, so many parks, and the beach is literally a 5 minute drive to find parking. There are many 2/3 beds under 4k. Feel free to message me!
