It is a wealthy, somewhat secluded area in the hills, with a healthy amount of old people. Not a lot to do if you’re a young adult, but a nice place to raise kids, given the good public schools. Just give your kids a bike because transit is not at it’s best.

Kentfield is great if she has a family or wants one. Lots of families, really great schools, safe, lots of access to the outdoors. Central Marin generally is a place where kids have a lot of independence. Commute to the financial district isn’t bad. I love it here

I have a kid in Bacich and Kent Middle. We love both schools. The Bacich teacher my kid had last year was incredible. You could tell she has a genuine heart for the kids. She would get emotional just talking about how much she loves the kids, and was excellent for my child.
At Kent, my other kid LOVES it. She's a bit of an introvert but ended up signing up for all the extra-curricular activities she could handle just because she loves to be around the school so much. Both kids get good grades.
I could nitpick anything but there's nothing big enough at either school to be truly concerning.
The one thing I will call out is you do see the stereotypical "keep up with the Joneses" type mentality for some families. But it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I am very intentional on keeping my kids as grounded as possible considering where we live. Money/stuff don't matter. It's about quality friendships, kindness, and giving back to the community. We try to live by example that way.
