What's it like to live in Westerville?

Westerville is awesome. Best suburb parks around. They were on the multi-use bandwagon before anyone else and the entire city is walkable/bikeable. The reservoir is great for fishing/sailing/kayaking. Pretty much everything you need retail-wise is nearby. Otterbein has a great theatre program. I've been trying to convince my wife that we should move there for years.

Bought a house there last year, near the dam. I have two kids. Schools were high up on my list and I was between Dublin, Gahanna, Hilliard and Worthington as well. The housing market is quite competitive here so I wound up looking at a bunch of areas and Westerville had more inventory. I absolutely love living here and think the schools are diverse with tons of opportunities. I think you won't miss out on schools but if for some reason you end up wanting private, Columbus Academy isn't too far away.

Grew up in Columbus and moved to Westerville about 8 years ago. Westerville definitely has a smaller town feel than Dublin but I prefer the traffic in Westerville to Hilliard (my brother lived there before moving out of Columbus). I really like the feel of Uptown and like the direction Westerville is headed. I live about an 8 minute walk to the reservoir so I am a bit spoiled but I am definitely glad we landed where we did. We ended up with great neighbors and while the schools aren’t the best they have definitely treated our kids well.
