It's a very safe place to live. Low crime rate. One of the fastest growing cities in TX and will change drastically over the next few years. There are several neighborhoods with low or no HOA with homes on an acre+ of land.

I just turned 30 and moved from Austin to Georgetown a year and a half ago. I love it! The square is amazing and it’s definitely more of a day drinking community 😂 We have breweries and the square is open container, so you can grab a beer and walk around. The food up here is pretty good and downtown has a LOT of locally owned options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’m not one for the going out scene, but there are plenty of options in Round Rock that are close, and north Austin isn’t too far either. The hiking trails up here are great and there is WAY less of a homeless presence. I did live in Round Rock for a few months in between and it was a good middle place, but there were still homeless people on my street.

Take a drive NW on Williams from Shell Road all the way to Andice. New developments, attractive farmland, cattle, horses etc. Turn around drive back towards GTown, make your way SW to Ronald Regan, check out new schools, (private Christian School Divine Savior is beautiful.). You can visit the new HEB (I think its actually in Leander). Housing in San Gabriel Oaks and Santa Rita Ranch close by. Not sure what your budget is but there are beautiful new homes on large lots behind Randalls (Jim Hogg at Williams) If heading north on Williams make a right just before Randalls (Jim Hogg) then an immediate right. Drive until you can make your first right, then straight past Highland Springs Lane, keep going straight (looks like a dead end) you'll be in a beautifully wooded area with 20-30 new home sites but I think you'd be looking at $1M+, but not sure. This whole area is nice, should be other homes less than $1M. Watch out for the deer, they're thick in here. Also check out Lakeside Ranch development, about one mile N on Williams from HEB, on your left as you pass the new car wash. Ford Elementary School and a couple of pre-k, k, and child care facilities close by. Houses in Lakeside Ranch 600K and up. Good luck.
