Regarding walkability Worthington is probably the most walkable. Most neighborhoods have access to bike paths leading to the Olentangy Trail which leads to Downtown Columbus. I think New Albany would come in second for walkability. It has many bike trails that are connected to most of the neighborhoods and the school campus. Having lived in both I will say New Albany, IMO, is more welcoming and social, the schools are fantastic and community centers around family.

Upper Arlington hands down. You can’t beat the walkability, neighborhood feel and close proximity to downtown. You’re also about 20 mins to anywhere in the city. UA is pure traditional Americana. It’s what you imagine suburban life to be like in movies and books - block parties, parades, kids riding their bikes everywhere, etc. Kids have so much more autonomy in UA because so much is walkable and bikeable. South of Lane is also so close to Grandview which is really nice.

New Albany may allow more for your budget, but it’s incredibly isolated. There are barely any restaurants out there, grocery stores are limited. Everyone I know that lives out there is always driving 25 mins+ to go literally anywhere. Which is why basically no one leaves. New Albany is still developing too so you never know what will go in close by, what the school system is going to look like (look at Dublin and Powell/Olentangy to see how that’s worked out other places). I’d choose UA (esp south of lane) any day over New Albany!

New Albany is a beautiful, family-friendly suburb with great schools, clean neighborhoods, and tons of parks and trails. It’s quiet and safe, but there’s not much to do for teens or at night. Overall, it’s a great place to grow up if you enjoy a peaceful, close-knit community.
