If you can handle a slower pace of life, then the valley is a good place. It may take a bit of time to find your people, but there is plenty to do. Large events don't happen here. Travel and outdoor options are in abundance. We are roughly halfway between the Bay area and Portland. You are couple hours from the high desert, the beach, the Redwoods, and all on Northern California. It isn't the cheapest place but the CoL has to be less than Seattle. The weather is better too if you can handle the heat in summer. We actually get sun in the winter.

We travel a lot, 40 Spanish Male married, wife and I moved here a few years back my wife is a year younger than I she has a few local friends she grew up with about your age that moved back to the area also by coincidence. They are single and dating everyone seems happy. There is plenty of work. TONS to do if you are adventurous, and do not mind driving to neighboring cities, cost of living is fair buying a home is recommended might be less than renting if you can afford it?

We get out a lot, you definitely have to get out to meet people. I hear otherwise its the same 50 guys a lot girls/women rotate around on the dating apps lol. One thing I notice the women to men ratio is off? seems to be 5-6 women to every man in the dating scene? We were not a fan of Seattle to congested. There is more quality of life in Southern Oregon you get little big city vibes, if that makes sense? I see/meet a lot of interesting people all the time. I am a retired home builder/renovator and I help/donate my time to help people with home issues when others are charging to much money.

There is a big North Carolina vibe to Southern Oregon IMO. The big cities are medium most people are social, food is good and getting better, lots of outdoor experiences and events, close to the coast (1h+ is not far!) its diverse enough, and cost of living is fair depending of your lifestyle? Not crazy congested. We have enjoyed living here its more fun if you make friends and actually enjoy what it has to offer. Good luck hope this helps?

Weather is going to be the biggest difference. The Rogue Valley is very dry, sunny, and warm. Smoky right now due to all the wildfires in Northern California. People are generally chill here. Expect radicals on both sides politically to be the most vocal (cough Reddit) , but statistically we are a purple county. Meaning our most prominent political “party” is unaffiliated. The county has voted for Obama and Trump in the past so it seesaws. Cost of living is high’ish though. Very similar to the rest of urban Oregon. Our region lost 2500 homes in the 2020 Almeda Fire so we are still short housing from that along with the housing shortage we had for the past 10 years here. Lots of migration into the Valley via California due to our weather, wine, outdoors, and lower cost of living as compared to most of California. Lots of new apartments are being built. For something nice and new’ish, probable around ~$1200 one bedroom. Years ago I drove Uber and Lyft and stuck to MFR only and it was really good. Don’t know how that driving market is since 2019 though. I personally love it here (when it’s not smoky). Great outdoor activities, tons of amazing wineries to taste, good airport to jet off to and from, growing fast, really good food truck scene too. If you want college vibes, you can drive south 10 miles to Ashland and you’ll get your fill. There’s a reason we are growing like crazy, secret is out. I welcome it and potentially you! Job market is still competitive. Medical is huge here and always hiring. Amazon is building a giant thing here that will require hundreds of employees. Fortune 500 company Lithia & Driveway is HQ’d here and offer a wide variety of jobs.
