LOVE LOVE LOVE Gahanna. I moved here seven years ago and stayed with my brother in HIlliard. My family was still down south for another six months due to my wifes job so I just drove around every day researching areas, eating out, having coffee, walking around and getting a good feel for where we wanted to settle down. Both kids were 5 and under then. Man was it the best call I've ever made buying here in Gahanna. Schools are good but about to get real better with the new high school. So many parks, big and small. Lost of trails. I think every house on our street puts up decorators for holidays. Big-time community feel. Highly recommended for a young and growing family. .

It’s very stereotypical suburb, but it’s a nice area if you’re okay with that. Pretty nice parks in the area, generally quiet. I’ve lived in the area since 2016, bought a house a few years ago. Prior to that I was in Victorian Village/ Grandview for 26+ years. Really, the only thing that’s annoying to me now is that realistically I need to drive everywhere for everything - this will vary by specific location, of course, but when I was in Victorian Village for 11 years and then the Grandview/ UA area for many years after that, I mostly walked everywhere.

Also, property taxes are a bit high here, but it is what it is.

I don't like the east side as a destination but living there was nice. I think you get more space for the money out there, or at least used to. You will check the good schools, safety and community boxes as well. I have friends with kids similar ages out there and they love it.

Bad: Be prepared to barely see any of your west side friends.

edit: I am referring to Gahanna btw
