Downtown
Young Professsionals
Glendale is largely suburban and family-oriented, but if you’re looking to live here, then you’ll start your search Downtown. The Americana is here, an amazing California mall (plenty of it is outdoors), and it has too many restaurants to name (it does have a Shake Shack), shops and cafes, and a massive movie theater. You can also find upscale dining and drinking along Brand Boulevard. It’s unlikely this will be the epicenter of your social life, but it has enough to get you by when you aren’t exploring LA.
Adams Hill
DINKs/SINKs
Suburban cities like Glendale don’t always attract too many couples or singles without little ones, but the Adams Hill neighborhood is cool enough to pull in those looking for hillside living with historic Spanish and English Tudor homes and beautiful parks. At the base of the hill sits Adams Square, which offers locals boutique coffee, bakery, and dessert options, so you get your necessities and some community spirit here.
Verdugo Woodlands
Families
Verdugo Woodlands is a perfect neighborhood for a family to start their search. Great schools, beautiful homes, and the incredible Verdugo Park, which has baseball fields, basketball courts, Horseshoes, a Skate Park, and a massive children’s play area. If you live here, that park could become your backyard. Montrose is another cool option. It’s walkable, which is a true unicorn in the Los Angeles Metro, with great restaurants, shopping, and a super-popular Farmer’s Market. Combine all that with some great schools, and you’ll want to check it out.
