What's it like to live in Culver City?
Is Culver City a good place to move to?
Hello all, I’ve been looking around cities to move to further my career in tech and I was curious how Culver City was in terms of cost of living, crime rate etc, and it looks like a perfect place for a male in their late 20s, which just trying to save money. I’ve been eyeing some job offers here which is why I’m so curious.

Culver City is a good starter spot for someone in your industry at your age and moving here for the first time. It’s not so far west that you can’t access central/east LA reasonably quickly but still close enough to the west side that you can go to the beach/Santa Monica if that’s your thing. Lots of good restaurants/bars in the area as well as some nice smaller walks/hikes (Culver City Stairs/Baldwin Hills outlook). If you’re near the Metro that’s also a bonus.
The downside is that because of all of those things it’s in demand and more expensive. As some people have mentioned Palms is a slightly cheaper option that’s still very close by. I also recommend Mar Vista/Del Rey but they’re not as walkable.
Two questions for you are 1) where are you moving from 2) do you have a job lined up, and if so where is it as that would be a big factor in my decision making if I were in your shoes

I love Culver City. Has a great downtown, access to great parks like Kenneth Hahn, and it’s family friendly. I don’t live in CC proper but I’ve been in the area since my mid-20s, and now I have a family, so it’s a great place to grow. Cost of living is quite high so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re trying to save money, but the outskirts of the city are fine too.

Culver by day / evening is a busy city center with a workplace population over 200k. It is integrated with Westside LA yet insulated as Venice, Jefferson and the 405 virtually fence activity into a small area. By night / weekend, it’s a quiet, tree-lined inner suburb with a creative-oriented population of 40k. It’s quiet, owls can be heard hooting at night and butterflies are abundant. There’s plenty of wealth, but much of it is stealth with Teslas and Subarus line the driveways.

known for the classic and modern era of film and television - Culver City is an amazing destination that is commonly overlooked by tourists. It's situated on the West Side of Los Angeles - fairly close to LAX, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Venice, its an interesting spot with great food, vibrant bar scene, and beautiful homes. Great place to walk and Baldwin Hills overlook is an amazing hiking trail situated near by. Very quiet area, a residential reprise from more busy parts of LA - Worth looking at the local museums and historical society.
The essence of Culver City spills over to neighboring areas due to it's odd shape- I've noticed people refer to their neighborhoods colloquially as Culver City, while they reside in a sub neighborhood of Los Angeles (Palms, Castle Heights, Mar Vista, etc)
I had a conversation with a Gallery Owner in the Arts District who mentioned that rents are so high that many art galleries are moving to neighboring West Adams, or Jefferson Park - while others are moving to Beverly Hills. Larger tech firms have moved into the area. There's an interesting patch of architecture near Ivy Station that I used to visit as a teen
Great Place although I'm personally a bigger fan of Downtown or Korea Town - I like the urban vibe a bit more - I have since moved, although Culver City seems to be a hub for young professionals, families and older folks. Great place to be: practical, quiet, and fairly clean
