About the Program
The IOF serves as a “deal-closing fund” to strengthen Idaho’s competitive position, support the expansion of existing Idaho businesses, and recruit new companies to the state, ultimately creating new jobs and economic growth in Idaho.
What is Offered
- Public Infrastructure Financing: Funds are used for public infrastructure improvements—such as water, sewer, or road access—needed to accommodate new or upgrading commercial and industrial facilities.
- Discretionary Awards: The financial assistance is allotted at the direct discretion of the Director of Idaho Commerce to boost the state's competitive edge against other locations.
Who is Eligible
- Local Governments and Communities: Qualifying local communities, cities, or counties apply for the funds on behalf of economic development projects that create or preserve vital, high-quality jobs.
- Target Businesses: The participating companies must demonstrate that the project is vital to the local or state economy, resulting in tangible job creation and capital investment.
