Living in North Austin & The Tech Corridor: A Local Guide for Newcomers
What Do We Mean by "North Austin + Tech Corridor"?
We’re covering the booming area from The Domain up to Leander and including North Burnet, Wells Branch, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, Hutto, Lago Vista, and Leander. This stretch includes everything from urban-feeling mixed-use developments to classic suburban sprawl. It’s growing rapidly thanks to tech jobs, newer housing, and good schools.
The Vibe
This is Austin's Silicon Valley stretch. Major employers (Apple, Dell, Samsung) have built out massive campuses here, and developers followed with apartments, townhomes, and retail. The Domain is a downtown in miniature, with high-rises, bars, and offices all mixed together. Farther north, cities like Round Rock and Cedar Park offer traditional suburban setups but with tech jobs nearby and strong public schools.
